Join DancEthos and Word Dance Theater for an evening of dance exploring not just the performance, but the process, and not just the artists’ viewpoints but the audience’s. Choreographers Vladimir Angelov, Tiffany Haughn and Cynthia Word are featured in a concert that emphasizes how the audience is an essential and integral part of the performance experience.
DancEthos Artistic Director Tiffany Haughn presents The In Between, which explores the soul shaking and soul shaping experience of living with a life-threatening illness. In Framework, choreographer Vladimir Angelov takes the audience on a journey inside of a painting as the portrait of a woman comes to life through dance.
Word Dance Theater presents Isadora Duncan’s rarely-seen Russian dances from the 1920’s alongside new choreography by Cynthia Word based on the themes of love, loss, revolution and triumph of the human spirit.
Additional works by DancEthos choreographers Matthew Bennett, Jenny Flemingloss and Carolyn Kamrath explore relationships between parents and their children, the fight and debate created by two opposing beliefs, and the impact of Parkinson’s disease on an individual.
